title sounds good, content so so
I’ve used Holofly and it’s awesome, but you didn’t mention that you really need to download it before you leave home kind of important.
lol I thought Bluey was playing in the background
don’t sleep on Cruise Genie app if you are going on a cruise! made everything soo convenient for me!
Hello, I am from Pakistan and travelling solo to Madrid, Milan, Venice, Florence and Zurich in July. Though I have been to 36 countries but always had my hotels, flights, tours everything booked in advance by a travel agent. Your vlogs have educated me very well…. Have already downloaded the necessary apps and highly appreciate your efforts of making these very useful easy to understand vlogs…. Will safe many from getting into trouble which many would not want to specifically when travelling for fun. Stay blessed 😊
@awaytogether would you recommend Tripit Pro? Does it make sense over the free version?
Good tip. Besides, for people who don’t master foreign languages, I would like to recommend Immersive Translate for them. This plug-in can help them break language barrier when they travel abroad.
These are great suggestions, thank you! I’m in Canada, and I would pay $15 a day for international roaming. Going on 2 week trip to Maui (USA) soon. How do i get my travel (airline, hotel) notifications (i.e. if the plane is leaving later) or my Boarding Pass onto my phone if I switch to an E-sim and not my regular phone number with which i booked all my trip?
Cool tips! Wanderlog is not here but worth it. But more importantly how about a Destination Finder? Like OFFAIGO?
Better maps for some countries in Central America, is Waze. Especially in countries where police are corrupt and you need to know where speed traps are located.
FLIGHTY is amazing and can subscribe weekly if you dont fly often. TRAINS in UK Nation Rail app is the best. Raiboard also useful. Each train company has their own. Trains in uk are a mess expect cancellations and engineering works.
For me the tipping app wouldn’t be so useful, I just tip as much as I liked the service.
just started watching you. I think your great. Answered most of my questions, and i got some new apps. Thank You
Downloaded TripIt after seeing your video and my wife and I and other family members find it incredibly useful! Thanks for the tip! Greetings from NYC!
GlobeTips is only for iphone!
I have an android, it took me much time to figure this out.
Rather than Holafly, I’d suggest you look at changing your service to Google Fi. It has exceptional international coverage, is available with unlimited data that travels with you, and is cost-competitive with other services while offering much more.
Got your guide is trash. Total rip off. Viator is the best! Terrible customer service!
FlexiRoam for esim data
FreeNow was really helpful in London
Great video. Thanks so much. Just returned from Croatia. Beautiful country. Used Insight tour company. It was fantastic
My tip: Learn the actual language 👍 Don’t be lazy. The whole handing over your phone to someone else for communication sounds super awkward. Again, don’t be lazy. Learning enough to survive a few days or weeks in a country shouldn’t require more than just a few weeks of some hard work. Totally worth it, imo
I have never used a single app on my travels. And I find it very hard to understand why a lot of people can’t travel without using apps. I never got lost, I found everything I needed to find, I used local transport everywhere. In fact the only reason I have my phone with me is to be able to send a distress signal if needed.
Citymapper is beyond incredible in large cities. In the last month I managed to get across Paris and London with total ease on the metro and underground
Google Translate doesn’t do so well with tonal languages like Thai, especially in the conversational mode. It’s ok for individual words or short phrases usually (although not always) written.
Would this phone app work with a phone company like Cricket or Metro by T Mobile?
Here’s a great tip for everyone: never tip anyone. that garbage is ridiculous. people who expect tips don’t deserve them. tipping "culture" is poison.
0:45 maybe I’m missing something with TripIt, but how is it better than just iCal entries for flights, hotels & restaurants? Every time I book one, I add them to my Itinerary calendar, with booking confirmation numbers etc. I can bring it up on my phone/tablet/laptop, and share with as many people as I want.
Thank You for Globe Tip!
I use it everywhere I dine. 10-15% is muy bueno!

Flighty is an essential app for my travel
Hello Nik, Allie! What do you think about new app: IhaveRoom? 😃
Wow, this video is a lifesaver! These travel apps are going to make my trips so much easier and more enjoyable. Thanks for sharing these must-have tools for 2024! 🌍📱✈
I’m sorry. Your dialogue is not authentic at all. Vomit. ChatGpt anyone?
Holafly sounds extremely expensive. I was actually thinking about getting it but after seeing the prices, I’ll just stick with the hustle of buying the SIM cards and internet packs on my own. 20 more bucks in my pocket will go in handy for my trip for sure
Amazing video!!!
ok
Re: TripIt app. I use this app for EVERY trip I take. Optionally, you can set the app up so that any confirmation email you get is AUTOMATICALLY forwarded to TripIt do you don’t have to remember to forward it manually, but you basically have to give the app access to your email account. Being a little paranoid about that, I have not set it up that way. I just forward everything myself.
Is there a free account available for Trip It?
Kiwix with WikiVoyage for offline use. There is even WikiVoyage Europe. Additionally, if there is enough room (at least 120 GB of space) the entire Wikipedia can be downloaded for offline use.
Why would you want to use an external app for your itinerary when the airline company provides one whenever you book a flight?
Depending on where you are, Apple Maps might be better! In Chicago, Apple Maps had better directions when my sister and I were walking downtown. BUT Google Maps will forever be better.
Hi Nik, started watching your videos a few months ago while planning my European trip. I have been looking for a good tipping app as a few of my legs are with a tour. The Globe Tip app appears to be a staff/ business app now. Can you recommend another? Thanks and keep up the good work🎉
The Uber cash tip is incorrect. Uber cash cannot be used in a currency different than deposited. I loaded $25 usd in Uber cash and couldn’t use it in Spain. They said it was because it’s in USD and not euros. Was not able to use it. Using a U.S. credit card the bank itself will change the currency and give you a more favorable rate.
When in London, I found CityMapper to be much better than Google Maps.
Fuk holafly 😢…..Airalo international Global plan. Much cheaper and works in 130 countries and plan doesn’t expire for 365 days
Long distance busses are a thing in Europe, especially Flixbus. Quite cheap, and now you can even book specific seats. I like to sit upstair in the front of their double deckers, never boring.
Unfortunately, Google Maps’ offline feature does not provide walking directions.
Excelent video, a lot of useful tips and apps I have never heard of before. Thanks a lot!
I’d appreciate a tipping app that works also on Android phones.😢
Globetips is only for iOS.
